Poverty and human rights issues are specifically found in urban locations such as Boston. We have seen many times that poverty and environmental injustice is due to financial and racial inequality. “We have a lot of black and brown communities, a lot of Native American communities, a lot of immigrant communities that basically sacrifice zones because they are the dumping grounds for these pollution-intensive facilities. (Yale, Env.360)”. In cities, where minorities are placed due to their economic status, companies tend to dump grounds from factories that are built around them. Lower-economic minority areas that industrialize occur more in these areas and as a result of these actions, there is a higher rate of pollutants that affect these communities.
Connection to authority housing
Most of these cities are populated with minorities, most of the homes located in these cities are building that many call the “projects”, these buildings are government-provided homes for low-income minorities. Government Housing is rarely provided to families in a safe and clean environment. Many times “to benefit ” the people these homes are located in industrialized cities.
Overall this is mostly in relation to racial, income, environmental , social and wealth inequality. Oftentimes this is a consequence of market dominance, discrimination, and segregation. It is also a cause and an issue of poverty.
