Hello, I am a 21-year-old, Senior, studying at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth studying Liberal Arts and Science and concentrating in Sociology/Anthropology and Urban Studies. I was born in Cape Verde but when I was 8 years old I moved to the United States and resided in Boston Massachusetts. I’m a first-generation college student in my family.

This web case is based on Environmental Injustice in Urban Areas specifically government-provided homes for low-income families, for instance, housing like Section 8. We will be focusing on where these homes are located in how it affects resident that is living in them.

I choose this topic for this web case because I’ve met any member of the Boston area who has been living in authorized government housing and some who have been struggling to obtain housing through the program. Those who have been living in the area have some pros and cons about the provided housing.
